CARL ALBERT MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER BAND
Once again the instrument music program at Carl Albert Middle School will offer a summer band program. Classes will start June 6th and will end June 23rd. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday in the CAMS band room. It is very important for every student enrolled in band next year to attend. No attempt has been made to avoid conflicts with camps or vacations, but students could miss up to one week and still benefit from the program.
There are three classes available as follows:
BEGINNING BAND: This class is for all students that will be in the beginning band classes next year. It is also for any advanced band student that would like to learn to play a second instrument. We will be working on beginning fundamentals and easy melodies. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 till 9:55am.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BAND: This class is for all students enrolled in the Intermediate/Advanced Band next year. We will be working on advancing our playing and sight-reading skills as well as learning new music. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 10:00 till 10:55 am.
CODA Class: This class is for all students auditioning for the CODA Honor Band. We will prepare for auditions and work on solo performance skills. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 11:00 till 11:55 am.
Please return the bottom portion of this form to Mrs. Scott at CAMS by May 18th or bring the first day of camp. The enrollment fee is $60.00 for one class, $85.00 for two classes and $100 for three classes. The enrollment fee needs to accompany the bottom portion of this form. Cash is preferred or you can make checks payable to Becky Scott. A concert will be held the last day of camp at 10:00 for all guests wanting to attend.
